Information for New Reception Starters
At Prendergast Primary, we place great importance on forming positive relationships with our families; therefore, over the coming months we will be inviting both you and your child to a range of transition events, aimed at getting your child familiar with their teachers and peers, and also for you as parents/carers to get to know our team and facilities.
Our first transition event will be our Taster Sessions, running on Tuesday 13 June and Thursday 15 June 2023, from 10am to 11am. The Taster Session provides an opportunity to meet our friendly EYFS staff, play with our equipment and toys and interact with other children joining our school. Your child will be invited to a Taster Session on either 13 June or 15 June 2023.
Please contact us at pls_eyfs@prendergast-ladywell.com, if you are unable to attend on one or either of these dates. Additionally, we ask that only 1 adult accompanies each child to our Taster Sessions. We hope and expect that our later events, such as the Family Picnic, will be open to more than 1 adult per child.
Please put the following dates in your diary for our other exciting upcoming transition events:
- Thursday 29 June 2023 at 5.30pm - Reception Welcome Evening: an information session for parents/carers about what to expect in Reception. Please call the school office on 020 8613 7490 or email pls_eyfs@prendergast-ladywell.com to confirm whether you are able to attend.
- Tuesday 11 July 2023, 10-11am – Family Picnic: a fantastic opportunity for new Reception pupils and their families to meet others in the same class, socialise, enjoy some delicious picnic food and take part in some fun family activities.
